Earlier this year, we advised you that Health Canada scaled back initial plans to roll out its new UPLAR regulations and that they have been postponed indefinitely. Isagenix is committed to making sure that when these regulations resurface, we will be ready to fully comply. Our QRTS Department has been working diligently on our products to ensure they meet all UPLAR standards both for the products, ingredients and labeling. Here are just a few of the things that Isagenix has accomplished in the past month or so:
o New Look on Labels. You will soon notice, based on rotation of finished products in circulation, the fact panels, ingredient listings, warnings/cautions that appear on all Canadian products have been updated to comply with the upcoming enforcement of Health Canada’s UPLAR. In particular, Health Canada requires that warnings and cautions be placed on a product label as stipulated by its existing “standard” for certain vitamins or minerals contained within Health Canada finished goods. An example of this new label format is the recently introduced Ageless Pain Relief™ Cream. Note that this does not and will not impact the quality or efficacy of our no-compromise products.
o Applications in Queue. We have applied for and are in the process of receiving issuance of the necessary EN’s (Exemption Numbers) and NPN’s (Natural Product Numbers) required for all Natural Health Products in Canada. As such we are pleased to advise that EN’s have been received for our Ageless Essentials™ Daily Pack for Men and for Women.
o Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA). Isagenix is now a member of this prestigious regulatory and lobbying body. This allows us to keep our finger on the pulse and to be at the forefront of any and all changes of note as regulations change or are updated by Health Canada.
o Improved Communications. Aside from this communication, more detailed updates are shared during the monthly Canadian Leadership Call. We are also exploring other electronic forms of ways to clearly communicate all changes along with sending notifications with all orders placed. Isagenix will keep you informed of all developments to assist you in building your business.
